I'd say that it isn't you. Have you seen the Way off Base for today? There's others that are worse than what you posted.
It's a phenomenon called auction fever ...
The site now redirects to a page saying how the auction got hijacked and is now being reinstated at a more sensible bidding level
I still haven't figured out the attraction of Ebay, people selling junk for stupid prices, and other people lining up to pay...............DUMB & DUMBER
When I just went to the link Lev it stated the item sold for $5,700 USD NO redirect

Weird. I get redirected to a page that now states it has been sold, but for a $700-ish

I think if you scroll down the page Lev, you will see that the bidding closed on the Item Mada was talking about and the winning bid was $5,700 USD, the top of the page just shows the Open bids:)

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) -- Two armed thugs tried to rob a line of people waiting for the new Playstation 3 game system to go on sale early Friday and shot a man who refused to give up his money, authorities said.
In other states, customers pushed and shoved their way to the shelves to get at the limited supply, and in Kentucky, four people were grazed by BBs fired from a passing vehicle as they waited for a Best Buy store to open.
The two gunman in the northeast Connecticut town of Putnam confronted 15 to 20 people standing outside a Wal-Mart store shortly after 3 a.m. and demanded money, said State Police Lt. J. Paul Vance.
"One of the patrons resisted. That patron was shot," Vance said.... Click Here to Read More (http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/P/PLAYSTATION_SHOOTING?SITE=7219&SECTION=HOME&TEMPLATE=DEFAULT&CTIME=2006-11-17-07-41-29)

Honestly, I'm more looking forward to playing the Wii than I am the PS3. Don't get me wrong I do want both, but I'll be happy with the Wii first. We did get the PS2 before we got the Game Cube (someone loves the Zelda games and it ain't me... me it would have to be Castlevania), so I guess this year it will be different. :)

Back to the thread...do people seriously spend that much money over Ebay without seeing the product first anyway? I wouldn't, and I've bought and sold stuff on Ebay for years.

I sometimes wonder that myself, but even though I've bought and sold stuff on eBay for a long time as well you won't have me going overboard for buying something that's in short supply. I still have my lesson when buying one particular book went out of hand before. It's a lesson that I'll never forget.
