hi im currently learning html im using notepad at the moment anyone know any really good free html editors when i mean free i mean no trail version real good editors that actually work

i like it - good for learning - you have a preview pane so you can view the site as you are typing code (sort of like in dreamweaver) but it doesn't have a whole lotta bells and whistles, and doesn't muck up the code. I enjoy it.

NVU is very nice and you can get a portable version..
another in 1st page 2000 (now 2006) from www.evrsoft.com - haven't tried 2006 yet.. but really liked 2000.

I switched to notepad++ after using this for some time. The programs are almost identical, but only one is free.
i found pagebreeze very useful for html
of coarse you could always try mozilla or sea monky both a have html editor too
