Well, long story short, I am going to try to get the CCNA cert on my own. I am slowly building my own little 'lab' to play with.

I got this http://cgi.ebay.com/Cisco-Systems-2500-series-Router-2501-8MB-Flash_W0QQitemZ140088363723QQihZ004QQcategoryZ67314QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Not much as far as routers go, but I need it to learn. I need one more Cisco router and a couple of switches. If there is a really good Cisco router out there that I can get for $150 or so that will work with the 2501 and actually be usefull, please let me know.

Before you go getting bogged down in hardware, you might want to look into software

Thanks for the info. I have a router sim or two, but I am a hands on person. With the actual hardware there, and a book, I will learn more. And I don't plan on going too crazy with the hardware...

Thanks for the tip though. Hmm, I wonder if you can overclock those old routers...
