Hi guy's, I have been playing TW2003 with my bro in another part of the country over Direct IP.
I start the game go online then send him my IP address, then he starts the game puts in my IP then bingo I see him and I host the game and away we go.
Until the other day when I got a D-Link router. Now when I go to do the same, the thing won't work. I have a guess it's because my PC has and IP address and so does my router. The question is guy's how do I configure my router so as he can go straight through it to my PC.
We tried putting in the router Ip and the PC IP but no go.
Could some wizard please tell me what I have to do.
I have got no firewall on either........ Love to hear from ya's...... bye

you can play over IP. you have to give him the external IP of the router. Then you must find out the port that the games plays over and configure the router to forward any info on that PORT to the IP of your PC. Note: Static addresses must be assigned for port forwarding. which means that you can't use DHCP from the router to the PC to assign an IP. You must disable DHCP in the router and assign an IP with the same range of the router. so if the routers internal IP is 192.168.1.1 then you should assign your pc something like 192.168.1.2 . Then configure the router to port forward to that IP address.
You should set up the IP info to include the routers internal IP for the gateway.

Be careful also when you say that you have no firewall, most D-Link routers have a built in firewall, you might want to check the site, or just log on to the router via the website address, and check to make sure there are no security tabs, or anything.
