IPC$ Share on WinXP Machine

Ok, i try to get to files on my win98 computer, and it wants a password for everything, even though i havnt assigned one (i removed it) what is going on? it even wants a password for the printer! Ive tried every password i might have on the machine and nothing gets thru. this is really annoying and ive seen it happen before, cant remeber how it was resolved

You get a request for a password for the IPC$-share when you try to access files which are placed on the Win98 machine ?

You need to setup a user on the XP box that is the same as the user you're logged-in as on the 98 box. XP likes it's security, Example: log into 98 box as 'User'. Create an account on the XP box called 'User' and give it admin rights.
