i just overclocked my pentium 1 233 to 266 by changing the fsb from 66mhz to 75mhz, i was wondering if it will run stable.
Generally speaking, you should be fine at those speeds, but run some tests to make sure.
As for those others who are overclocking to the limit:
There are many ways to find out if the system is stable. Obviously, running the system and just using it will constitute as a test of stability. But if you're looking for quick results, you can't go wrong with a DC program, like folding@home, seti, etc. Or you can download seventeen or bust (http://www.seventeenorbust.com/) and run that. Now, the only thing you can do with those programs is to run one, and hope the system doesn't crash. If it doesn't over time, it's fine.

HEY! That speed should be totaly stable.I got a Aopen board with a p3 333mhz slot 1(in the closet). The board alows you to adjust the fsb and clock multipliers.I ran the p3 333mhz at 419mhz with stock coolin and no problems with stability.S8ince I have not used the board in awhile I forget what the settins are.Need a new one?

I have entirly forgotten about this thread. I only found it after searching for something on google. I don't remember how i overclocked my board. I have a new computer now anyways(not much faster). I am stuck with a 450MHz AMD K6-2 processor.

Well, it took a while, but now I finally have a PIII 933 up and running. Not that anyone cares, but I've gone from a PI 233 to a AMD K6-2 350 to a AMD K6-2 450 to a PIII 933, not much of a climb is it.
My first PII450 is still running & gets used everyday.

It should.
Back about 1997/98 or so I had a P233MMX running at 292Mhz and it ran just fine with about a 10% Vcore bump, using good air cooling and decent Memory. I think I was using an FIC motherboard at that time. It actually kicked PII 233/266 butt in some benches when they were released. It worked well for gaming back then.

I don't exactly remember if I ever did try to overclock that computer, but I got rid of it along time ago, wish I hadn't though, it was a decent computer.
Gee... still some1 using pentium 1 generation???
Hey man, how can you overclock the FSB? don't you need a program or something? if you do please PM me with the link to download it from. I wanna overclock a P3 600mhz with 133mhz FSB. Thanks
