View Full Version : Just got the twins up and going
Well I finally got around to putting the wife's system in the other 1080 case that I have. I have'nt had her system going for a while, and I was becoming very use to the very quiet noise of the current watercooled system. Man did I get a shock when I turned it on. Might have to watercool that thing as well. :D
Mind you it has an AMD 2600+ in it, and with all those fans and noise, it still manages to keep the CPU the around the same temp as my P42.8C. (Both running at stock)
Might see if I can drop the noise factor a little.
I should have pics of them both, as soon as I get the other window in.
Should be tomorrow with any luck.
well here is a pic, BW (before window):D
looks good :) why dont you have your cases on the floor; is it for aesthetics, or something more sinister :p
one question cashy, couldnt you theoretically use convection currents in the coolant to propel itself around the system?
there is to much crap in the carpet to have it on the floor. I could run the vac over it all day, and the PC would still pick it up.
as for the second Q, how would it know which way to flow??
lol, probably wouldn't, so... are you going to watercool the twins ?
No, they are both Antec 1080AMG SOHO file server cases
no, same reference design.
Small update to the twins.
The wife system has gone. I sold it to fund my Panasonic DV Camera.
I just changed over the waterchill pump in this system, as its been grinding the impeller for the last 2 months.
Mmmmmmm, quiet again.

those are freakin awesome!
This is how it looks now.
The only things I have upgraded on it is an MX900 mouse and keyboard combo, and a green LED mouse pad.

Wow that is really cool, where did you get that pad. I need one with blue leds. I also have the mx combo, how is the performance with that pad?
I got the mouse pad from Here (http://www.pccasegear.com/prod994.htm), and yes they have blue. They were out of blue when I ordered, but I have 2 blue LED's to put into it. Performance is excellent
wow i am simply blown away by that mouse pad... i'm ordering one in green asap... Cashy does the mouse pad constantly stay lit or is there some way to turn it off without unplugging it from the USB port... also, in case you are thinking of ordering another one... this site has them for $19.99 as opposed to the $38 price tag listed on that site you provited

pc cases look great... too bad my pc knowledge limits me from ever creating something so visually appealing...
isnt it a pain turning it on and putting CDs in with it up there? ;) Looks VERY VERY cool dude :)
The pad stays on all the time. I have mine plugged into the back of my Game Theater XP.
As for the price, that was australian dollars.
Thanks goldfish, I only have to turn it on once a day, and the cd drives are easy to get too, I'm 6.4 ;)
I meant being at an angle like that. But hey... dosn't sound like a problem ;)
BTW those mousepads, i did a pretend order and it would cost me about $30 to get one mailed to the UK. sucks to be me!
