A quick question if anybody knows much about home/car stereo stuff-

Right now I've got two sony explod 6" 2-way 4ohm car stereo speakers set up in a box. I'm toying with the idea of getting two more 4ohm car stereo speakers to cross wire the two sets together to hopefully make two 8ohm(one right, one left) loads to hook up with my home stereo. One set of car speakers I'm looking at is another 2-way set and it says there's a built in crossover. I don't know if the ones I have currently have a built in crossover or not.

The question is is something like this feasible? Hooking up two 2-way 4ohm car stereo speakers together to get one 8ohm load? I know you can make 2 4ohm speakers into an 8ohm load and vice versa, but would the 2-way aspect change things?

Thanks for any help.

It might.

Assuming the 2-way is a tweeter and main (subwoofer) voice speaker together. But the tweeter is usually tune for the higher frequencies. It still may work. Will have to tinker with that myself. :cool
