In the most bizarre form, a single Twinkie will be taxed, but multi packs might not. this happenned to bagels in NH a few years ago with a new food tax.
Ho hos & Ding Dongs are not safe either (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/4131830/)
oh no, our precious snack foods! ;)
Yeah, last year about this time
Connecticut and Mass were about to do the
same thing....and if I remember correctly
it IS instituted in Connecticut now....
Ya know tho...i can still buy clothes tax free in Mass.
Certain electronics are also non taxable.
Oddd....eh? ;)
Yep. Big Tobacco has been bled for all it's worth, and Fat Food seems to be the next victim.
Next year I expect to see studies about how TV is ruining our motivation to get off our fat duffs, and the year after that, extra taxes on TV sets, cable & satellite services.
The only fat the government is NOT interested in curing is their own.
Actually, I would ban the bleeding stuff, along with cigarettes.
But then they can't tax it

Could always try a TV liscence.... ... not that it would work any better really, just means you'd have to pay more to watch tv, stupid eh? :p
I understand that in the UK, they do have a TV tax - even on "free" broadcast TV, and they've got electronic surveillance trucks going around finding viewers who haven't paid their tax watching illegally. Pretty stiff fine, IIRC. Maybe one of our MG friends from there can expand on this...
Yep, it's called a TV license, £116 for colour, £38 for B&W. You have to have one if you have any equipment capable of receiving broadcast TV (including PC tuner cards etc). The only exception is if you have a battery TV at a second home AND a license at your primary home.
I do like the BBC, but it'll be a shame if the government can start influencing how things are reported. Also, no adverts :-)
