View Full Version : Zone Alarm Trusted Zone setup
OK! Im happy, i just figured out how to access all my computers from just one of them. But i still need to figure out how to set it up so i dont have to shutdown firewalls on both my computers so i can access them. Please tell me step by step instructions. Thanks
Open up the Zone Alarm menu.
Click the Firewall tab.
Click on the Zones tab.
In the white area right click and add ---> ip address
ip range
subnet
host/site
Anyone of these options. If your sharing computers on a network, something like adding an ip range would work. Add the ip range that will cover all the LAN ip's pf your networked computers. :)
THANKS ALOT! But what IP do i use, do i make one up (sorry if that is just dumb [if it is]) Im new to networking but all of this is so sweet! THANKS ALOT!
Here is what happens when firewall is on: I click the name of my other computer in network places, it loads then a thing comes up and says blahblahblah no network path or something, when i turn firewall of it connects.
Yes! I Did It! Hahahahhahah! Aaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahah! Thank You Sir! Heheheh! I Love Computers!
It is always kool when you figure something out and it works correctly. Basically, you would look at all the computers and figure out their LAN ip's. They would prolly be something like 192.168.0.xxx, etc. The ip range would cover the range of ip's on your LAN network. ;)
I am having a similar problem but I can access files on either computer, my probelm is that I can not access the internet via my laptop unless I turn zonealarm off.
I have zonealarm installed on desktop and laptop
My network setup is
Internet ---- Modem --- Desktop --- Laptop
I have 2 trusted zones on my desktop there are
Internet zone -- which has the ip of my modem
trusted sone -- which has ip 192.168.0.0, I guess this covers the range of ips for my desktop and laptop.
When I try to connect to the internet on my laptop I have noticed that the icon in the programs bar of Zone Alarm on my desktop flashes when I hoover over the icon it states Generic Host Process for Win32 Services Listening to port(s): TCP: 1025, 3002, 3003 (trusted zones only)
Please can someone lend me a helping hand?
Kind regards Lisa
