I'm looking for a version of basic similar or identical to quickbasic 4.5 that I can run on Windows XP - I have True basic, does'nt work with some of my older programs. Any suggestions ( besides learning another language ;) )

Here it is. Works fine with XP, if you have any problems try putting some compatibility modes on it... but works fine for me running XP Pro.

Its not a compiler though, its a inturpreter... im sure you could find a suitable compiler on www.qbasic.com if you needed it :)

:) I'm glad you brought up the fact that you are using Qbasic, I thought I was the only one.

I use the original QBasic interpreter that came with the old Windows 98 disk. If you have an old windows disk or if you can get it from someone load it on and then select Browse CD Contents when the menu loads. It will open up an explorer window, then click on Old Dos. This will have a bunch of old files like the old batch commands and crap that came with it on here. Just copy the QBasic files from the cd to your hardrive.

If you have questions or want to share your Qbasic code with me give me a message at neonemesis4@Hotmail.com and AIM: Evilelf2407
