My ex-ex boss had me set up his DSL on his kid's pc and before the night was out he whipped out the box he got from Verizon for him to go wireless. I followed the instructions and got it set up. The 2 laptops he has did not have nic cards so I ordered them and am awaiting their arrival (802.11g cards and 802.11b router doesnt matter does it?)
Anyway, his work laptop is a new IBM Thinkpad with nic card and I could not get it to work. the system tray icon said there was no connection.
He said it works at his job on their wireless system but he's on the "intranet" not "internet" (company only access). He gets his work email via Outlook fine when he's wireless at work, or dials up to the network from home.
But it's not working with the wireless network at home.
Is there anything different I have to do with the setting up of his work laptop to get it to access his network with his home wireless setup?
