Hi, I have a pc with Xp (and also win98se on it) connected to internet with an external ADSL modem. I have a second ethernet card on the 1st pc to connect to the 2nd.
The 2nd pc has win95 and I cannot install win98 or above.
I bought a cross-over RJ45 cable.
I can't go on the web with the 2nd pc and the shared files ar not accessible by neither pc.
But, when I close the 2nd pc, Xp give a message something like the cable is disconnected.
Can someone help me, please.

Thank you very much!

Have you tried making a Networking Disk with the XP wizard?

on the xp box, just use the network connection wizard, stating that your are connecting directly trought the internet and that other computers connect to the internet using this pc.

on the 95 box, go in the network properties, change tcp/ip to use the dhcp,

then reboot.

also make sure that the xp firewall is deactivated on the connection that is on your lan (the one who connects the 95box on it)
