Just added a 4th Pc laptop with win xp pro to the ntwk with ADSL router and a hub and .The other laptop has xp home and was always running fine, however after the move to another office it will browse the LAN but will not connect to the internet at all.Ip address is set to auto. Have changed cables, turned off firewall etc, set privacy and security to default with no success, other laptop works fine in its place also when tested.

I would recommend that you ensure that all machines are in the same workgroup. To do so, please do the following:
1. Right-click My Computer
2. Select 'Properties'
3. Select the 'Computer Name' tab (XP) or the 'Network Identification' tab (2K)
4. Press the change button.
Repeat this process for all machines, ensuring that the workgroup is the same for each. It would also be a good idea to use static IPs. To do so, please do the following:
1. Right-click My Network Places (XP) or Network Neighbourhood (2K)
2. Select 'Properties'
3. Right-click the network adapter
4. Select 'Properties'
5. Highlight the TCP/IP protocol
6. Press the 'Properties' button
7. Select the radio button beside 'Use the following IP address'
Now, for each machine, assign an IP address in the 192.168.0.XXX (ie 100 - 104) range. Each subnet mask should be 255.255.255.0, and the default gateway should be the IP address of your router, which is usually 192.168.0.1
@Mada_Milty ....shouldn't that be 192.168.1.xxx and the router be 192.168.1.1?

Depends on the router...most I've seen default to the 192.168.0.XXX range, but it is possible that it would use the 192.168.1.XXX range. You can usually set this in the router configuration. On the two networks I administer, one is 192.168.0.XXX and the other is 192.168.2.XXX despite both using the same model of router. To Carl Hanlon: most SOHO rotuers will have web-based config pages, so to access them, simply type the router's IP in a web browser.
run ipconfig /all and post the subnet mask.. if you would.
