This actually has little to do with wireless, because I already know the wireless router is installed correctly, 4 other computers work perfectly with it. However, one brand new laptop will not work at all. It did a few days ago but now it won't. I feel like it's one of the virus scans/firewall's there's norton, trendmicro, and spysweeper but I checked them all they all seem to be off...I don't know what the problem is. again, it connects to the router perefectly, with a "very good" connection but internet explorer displays error message as though there is no connection. Any thoughts

Post the ip info for that one and any one of the others that do connect (start/run/cmd/ipconfig /all).:)

under network connections it says

wireless network connection 2
connected, shared, firewalled

is the firewalled thing a problem?

Probably not the firewall ...though you can disable it while you test ....which computer did you just post the ip address for ...the connected one or the one that won't connect?
And why is it shared?

no idea why it's shared, but i tested it for the one that will not connect

Under DIap Up and Virtual Private Network Settings it has
BroadBand connection listed
then it has selected never dial a connection

under lan setting it has automatically detect settings. Thats all

To me it seems that the 192.168.1.1 network doesn't know how to get to 24.154.1.9 or 24.154.1.36. Can you post an IP config from any of the machines that work?

Would also look at setting obtain dns to auto ...
But agree with jconstan ...try pinging ...others and router.
And please post ipconfig for working and non-working together....
