    Running XP SP3
    Firefox 3.5.3 or IE6
    Java6 update 16
CPU usage up to 99% most of the time

Before my computer crash a week ago, Firefox & IE didn't seem to have any problems with Pogo. CPU usage was always very high, but there were no freezing problems. I updated from Java's site in order to play on Pogo and since then, games are having major freezing problems.

Has anyone had any problems or does anyone have any answers that might help me??

    Thank you to anyone responding.

I played there and I had some problems with that. But my main problem was (like 2 certain games) would just close my game window that I was in. And it would either say disconnected which I wasn't or it just messed up. I emailed pogo many many times over this to try to solve it tring to say it was there side because over half the people in those games were being kicked or whatever. Pogo just said make sure your java is updated and you got no popup blockers on. And eventually they told me a reason of being disconnected was cause my side wasn't making a reponse to there site so after like some time it considers you in active and boots ya. But another thing if it isn't like this is maybe you got low ram and stuff like I do that makes it slower for things.

    Appreciate the answer back.

Done quite a bit of reading and a lot of people were having problems with the newest update 16. I found an older Java6 update 3 on my computer. Installed it and wow, unbelievable difference. Pogo games are all working great, no freezing, and no heavy CPU usage at all. Guess the downgrade in updates worked.

Hope my answer helps anyone else having this problem.

    G'day koalaw

it may help you if you completely uninstall java from your computer and reinstall it again.try using javara here " http://majorgeeks.com/JavaRA_d5982.html " this will remove any older versions then remove your current version via add and remove programs also delete the java folder from your programs folder and also the sun folder found in documents and settings. then clean up with ccleaner " http://www.majorgeeks.com/CCleaner_Slim_No_Yahoo_Toolbar_English_d4191.html ".
use the registry cleaner function to clean out all traces of java you may have to repeat the action several times to completely clean. once finished then reinstall the latest java " http://majorgeeks.com/Sun_Java_Runtime_Environment_d4648.html ",see if this helps good luck.

You should not be running update3. The reason Sun has issued 13 other updates since then is to patch security holes. Running an old, unpatched version allows your computer to be compromised.

Oh I understand completely what you are saying ... but for now I can play games in Pogo and have no problems.

Do you have another fix that would help? If so, I would gladly update to 16.

    Thank you for responding.

Java doesn't uninstall previous versions when up-dated,they just stack up one upon the other, and over time the older versions can corrupt the recent builds , possibly causing malfunction and or become security threats,
if you follow these instructions above that were already posted (#4) ,that'll solve your problem

I have a new computer running XP Home SP3 and Java informed me there was an update. The system came with Java 6 update 5 so it was seriously out of date. I allowed java to install the update. I was given 15 not 16. I don't know why.
You said yours worked last week. Go here
    http://java.sun.com/products/archive/
and the 7th item leads you here http://java.sun.com/products/archive/j2se/6u15/index.html
where you can download JRE 6 update 15, probably what you ran last week.
