Been a while since I have been around.
    Weird problem/issue on one PC.
Using Firefox. Latest version (but issue has happened with all versions)
When I launch my browser.... all tabs take quite a bit of time to load.
If I launch a new tab it takes forever to load...
    Unless!
If I hit the "X" to stop the loading, and then hit the "Reload" button, the page loads at normal speed or quicker.
It is only on the initial load unless as mentioned I stop it and restart it.
It is not the router, as it only happens on my main PC
PC is an Intel i7 overclocked to 4.1Ghz
    16Gb Ram
    Windows 7, all updates.
    Etc. etc.
I run CCLeaner on a regular basis... clear the DNS cache.. etc.
    Just can't find this one.

    Any ideas?
    Thanks

Your browser will try to load the previous session mostly from cache - which CC probably removed?

don't think it is that... doesn't matter if I have run CC recently or not... and as mentioned it only happens on my main computer and not mine nor my son's laptops

How do the addons compare on the slow computer versus the others? What homepage is on the slow page compared to the others? Have you tried setting the home page as blank then hitting the page you'd like to load as a bookmark?

    makes no difference.
And it can be a page that I have been to recently, or a page I have never been to.
    Takes forever to load....
but if I click the X to stop, then click refresh... loads right up.

Originally thought it was a router issue but only happens on this PC.

I guess the thing I haven't tried is a totally uninstall and reinstall of Firefox.....

Well... thought I would post back... It is obviously a Firefox issue. I do not have a solution yet.....
other than I now use Chrome as my main browser... there are a few things that I like better in Firefox... but the slow loading of pages was killing me.
    Chrome is working fine.
So it was not a computer or OS issue but clearly a Firefox issue, just on one computer.
Will report back if I ever figure it out.

    Cheers
