    Hello,
    Running 64bit Win10. HP Vision Desktop 4GB Ram.

    Recently received error message above when booting in normal mode. Safe mode runs OK. Dialogs pop up with this error message for all apps in toolbar. When starting an app (avast, any office app, etc.) dialog with error message pops up.

    Attached are log files of tools which found problems.

    Thank you for your help.

    This does not sound like a malware issue, but please attach the log from running Hitman.

    Thanks TimW. When I ran Hitman, it terminated unexpectedly when saving a log file. I will run again and see if I'm successful creating a log. Again, these scans are all run in safe mode because normal mode is problematic.

    Tried again. Saving log from hitmanpro causes crash of hitmanpro. Log not saved. Ask toolbar reported by hitmanpro as present, but no problems found reported. I saw somewhere that an update from windows may be causing the problem. I will investigate removing and hiding the update to see if that helps.

    Rerun RogueKiller and have it remove these items:

    ¤¤¤ Registry : 9 ¤¤¤
    [PUP.Gen1] (X64) HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{42F2CA19-AAA6-4CC1-99DA-AC4E0D89F508} (C:\Program Files\AdTrustMedia\PrivDog\1.8.0.15\magpie.dll) -> Found
    [PUP.Gen1] (X64) HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{8E0DF3C3-BA52-47F7-B601-307E5CB207EF} (C:\Program Files\AdTrustMedia\PrivDog\1.8.0.15\scriptservice.dll) -> Found

    ¤¤¤ Files : 1 ¤¤¤
    [File.Forged][File] C:\Windows\System32\drivers\rdpvideominiport.sys -> Found

    Reboot and rescan with RogueKiller and attach the new log.

    Deleted the three items, rebooted, re-ran roguekiller, attached is the log.

    The problem still exists.

    Thanks.

    I am afraid that you will need to pursue this issue in the software forum. As I said, this doesn't appear to be a malware issue.

    Since you are not having any malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware.
    2. Renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it in step 4 of the READ & RUN ME.
    3. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis. If you don't see it or it will not uninstall, don't worry about it. Just move on to the next step.
    4. If running Vista, Win 7 or Win 8 or 10, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    5. Now goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click ( if running Vista, Win7, or Win 8 Right Click and Run As Administrator ) on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    6. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    7. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:
