    Hi,

I am still not able to see the desktop as it is still blank black screen....I have attached the report and would appreciate the thoughts and if any additional information is needed....would love to get the laptop working good again

For some reason the hitman pro would run but not able to save log as it would come up with error and closing the program. I have provided the screen shots of the report....

If you have a black screen then how are you running scans? Ah.... I see from RogueKiller that you are in safe boot mode and that works. I expect that your problem is not due to malware. It may be due to drivers being removed or corrupted. Have you been running any registry cleaning programs or tune up / performance optimizing programs. If so, it could be due to running them.

I see you had another thread on this PC going in a different forum and you did have some tune up type programs including AVG. Do you have any system restore points that you can use to go back to a point before you started making changes and got this black screen problem? This is really not a topic for the malware forum though since this is unlikely to be due to malware.

Yes- i had run the scans in safe mode as I am not able to do anything in regular start-up. I did use AVG PC tune up previously and after that the issue happened and not sure if it was malware or removal/corruption of drivers. I have run sfc /scannow that didn't find any corrupted files or missing drivers.

I have removed AVG PC tune and all AVG virus protection on my laptop. Is there anyway to repair the possible missing drivers or scan to fix the problem? I was also thinking to update this to windows 10 as it currently has windows 7 enterprise version on the laptop. I have tried but unable to upgrade to windows 10....and wondering if this may be best solution? If there are any recommendation to get free windows 10 then do let me know as well.

Thanks again and await your feedback!

I did post on the other forum and based on the reports that I linked...I was told to post in this forum for expert to look at. I have restored my laptop from older saved version....but keep getting this network error- "Windows cannot access//sar26f2/users/mehts1/private/desktop...

Is there a potential fix for that..something that I need to do?? The laptop is back from the older restore version and the desktop if black....not sure if those files are saved anywhere or got deleted?

    You're welcome.
This only looks for problems with Windows system files. It would not address possible issues with drivers for your graphics card.

My suggestion was to try using a System Restore point. If that did not or does not help then try reinstalling the drivers for your graphics card. You may want to check from save mode if Device Manager is showing any issues with your hardware. This ( and possible installation of Win 10 ) are things you can discuss in your other thread.

That was only because you posted logs from the malware cleaning process.

This is from an network connection that you used to have setup. Probably from a work domain. This is also not a topic for the Malware Forum.
