145C core threshold...interesting

    I'm using an XFX Geforce 6600GT, and nvidia is telling me that the temp it'll start to throttle back its clock speed is 145C.

    Am I missing something here? Besides being unable to lower this temp, wouldn't the card be up in smoke by that time anyways?

    Yep. Gotta be a typo. Maybe they meant farenheit(sp?).

    It has to be a bug or coding error.

    Nothing in a PC would last long at 145 degrees C. (100 is the boiling point of water, so you can imagine how how that is)

    See if there is a driver update available?

    my Evga 6600gt is exactly the same way, I would like to set it to 80C as a precaution
