Hello. I'm good with software and bad with hardware, so here goes...

I have a Dell system that I purchased in January. My first problem is with the ATI Radeon X300. Games are too dark. Some have internal menus where I can change the brightness, and that helps, but most don't. Their website doesn't show an updated driver for my card. How can I play my favorite games again?

My second problem is that about 2 weeks ago, my computer (tower) started making a loud noise. It sounds like the fan. It's clean, there's no dust or cat hair on it. It's rather annoying. Is this bad? Is there anything I can do to make it quiet again?

Thank you in advance for your help, and I'm trying to learn about all this stuff!

as for ur graphics problem.. im sure u can get the new drivers either at ati.com or guru3d.com. also u might be able to use ATI Tool to change ur brightness settings for 3d applications once and for all so u dont have to change it in every game.

I've ran into this situation before. Found out my monitor was going bad, replaced with a new monitor and everything was fine.
