256 Mb make a differece?

    Hi on my old computer i got 512 DDR RAM PC 3200(single chip) n if i add a 256 will my pc make a difference in performance ?

    If your motherboard is a P4S800, then it's capable of dual channel RAM, and adding another stick of 512Mb, so they can run in dual channel, will give you a decent boost in performance. However, if the sticks are not a matched pair, they aren't guaranteed to work in dual channel together.

    well i had 512 and in doom 3 the doors would freeze when they opened a lil for like a sec.....put in 256mb more(768mb) and the doors open just fine now and allmy games run smoother so yes u prolly will notice a gain....but i got 2gb now lol...but yea u should
