2900 XT Blue pixels

I just installed a 2900 XT into my system after installing the cat 7.5 drivers i noticed that i have random blue pixels on ym screen (they will go away or "move" if a new window is open, i am running windows Vista and i was pretty sure that a 550 Watt PSU was enough for this. Any ideas?

 

I have 2 6pin PCI-E connectors (My PSU is SLI ready) now in the manual for the 2900 XT it is telling me to connect both those (as i knew already) to the graphics card, i put one in its proper slot but however for the second one (8pin) it tells me to connect it to the pins closest to the 6pin connector, i cant do that it wont fit the PCI-E cable will only fit in the furthest pins, unfortunally ATi support closes early on friday T_T should i shave off the thing (on the power cable) that is blocking it from connecting to the proper pins or what? New PSU? those are slightly expensive.

 

Before you purchase a new PSU (your current one should be fine) and before you start shaving off bits of plastic, wait until you contact ATI's tech people. You may end up damaging something or voiding a warranty. I know it's rough, but just wait 'til Monday (or whenever they open again) and get the word directly from them.....

Its weird the issue seems to have resolved itself... at least for now, and i checked my PSU is certified for a 2900 XT so powers not a problem. I guess i'll just have to wait and see.
