2nd hdd is not showing on disk management

    i bought a brand new Samsung 3.5 SATA hdd of 160GB, model HD161HJ internal
    it can be seen on bios and device manager/disk drive but its not showing on disk management! thats why i cannot format it.
    what should i do?
    is my samsung hdd broken?

    this my hardware:
    processor: AM2 A64 LE1620 s940
    mb: MSI K9VGM_V AM@ DDR@ PCIE LAN
    memory: 512mb ddr2 pc533/667
    1GB ddr2 pc667 (upgrde)
    hdd: maxtor 80gb stm380215as sata
    samsung 3.5 SATA hdd 160gb( the one that is not showing in disk mngmt)
    vc: inno 3d 7200gs
    cdrom: LG combo 52x/32

    please help me!!!:cry

    You can download the Samsung diagnostic tool from this direct link. The download is an ISO image file which must be burned to CD as an image, then you'd boot to it and run the diagnostic on the drive to be sure it's 100% healthy. If it's new, it is under warranty and can be returned for a replacement if needed. You can also try a 3rd party partition tool like Easeus Partition Manager or a bootable tool like Partition Logic; both programs are 100% freeware. Good luck! :-D

    (BTW- you didn't mention which version of Windows you're using... it shouldn't matter, but it might ;) )

    After the BIOS recognized it and it is attached, did you install the drivers?
