    These are the results from the scans for the third of four infected computers. I believe the virus was transferred between systems from an external hard drive. Like the others, the primary issue with this system is an inability to connect to the internet. When I first started running the malware detection programs recommended on this site, I wasn't able to start in normal mode as the computer would just keep restarting everytime I tried that, so I ran SAS and MB in safe mode. Furthermore, I wasn't able to install SAS so I had to use the portable version. After running those two programs, I was able to get on the computer in normal mode to run the rest of the programs. Unfortunately, I can't find where the original SAS log was saved, so I've attached a second one run after completing the rest of the runs, which then didn't find anything. Additionally, a Symantec error message comes up saying something about there being no HCP/IP something or other, related to emails.

    * Make sure that combofix.exe that you downloaded while doing the READ & RUN ME is on your Desktop but Do not run it!
    If it is not on your Desktop, the below will not work.
    * Also make sure you have shut down all protection software (antivirus, antispyware...etc) or they may get in the way of allowing ComboFix to run properly.
    * If ComboFix tells you it needs to update to a new version, make sure you allow it to update.
    * Open Notepad and copy/paste the text in the below code box into it (make sure you scroll all the way down in the code box to get all lines selected ):
    Code:
    KILLALL::

    Driver::
    okogzqfw

    File::
    c:\windows\system32\drivers\jkhot.sys

    FCopy::
    C:\MGtools\temp\XPSP3\beep.sysmg | c:\windows\System32\drivers\beep.sys
    C:\MGtools\temp\XPSP3\beep.sysmg | c:\windows\System32\dllcache\beep.sys

    * Save the above as CFscript.txt and make sure you save it to the same location (should be on your Desktop) as ComboFix.exe
    * At this point, you MUST EXIT ALL BROWSERS NOW before continuing!
    * You should have both the ComboFix.exe and CFScript.txt icons on your Desktop.
    If it asks you to overide the previous file with the same name, click YES.
    * Now use your mouse to drag CFscript.txt on top of ComboFix.exe
    [IMG]
    * Follow the prompts.
    * When it finishes, a log will be produced named c:\combofix.txt
    * I will ask for this log below

    Note:

    Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

    Please download NDISfix and save it to your Desktop. Then double click the NDISfix.bat file to run it. Let me know if you receive any error messages at all.

    Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator).

    Then attach the below logs:

    * C:\ComboFix.txt
    * C:\MGlogs.zip

    Make sure you tell me how things are working now!

    Thanks for the quick reply! After performing the procedures that you requested, I'm still having the following messages come up: 1) "TCP/IP is not installed. Disable email scanning in your Symantec product options or install TCP/IP." 2) "Google Desktop did not startup successfully", and 3) (when I try to perform a diagnostic on IE to discover why the connection is not working) "Windows could not detect any wired or wireless network cards installed on your machine. If you are connecting to the internet through your phone line using a dial up connection you will need to contact your ISP. Otherwise please make sure that the network card drivers are installed properly, or contact the manufacturer of your personal computer for further assistance." I also tried using SAS to fix the internet connection to no avail.

    Even though I can't search the web, most of the software I'm using to perform these scans are able to use the internet for updates.

    Attach a new ComboFix log.
