4 x sata 1 hd's, two controllers

My system is,
Mobo ASUS K8V SE DELUXE, Ram 2g, cpu AMD 64 3400, 2 x maxtor 120g sata1 hd in raid 1 on promise controller,PSU 480w, VID Radeon X800 pro 256,LG 16 x Dual layer burner, OS win XP Pro.
My problem is, I have installed 2 x 300g maxtor sata1 hd in raid 0, controller is on board VIA vt8237 southbridge. The mobo can support up to ten drives, the drives have been reconised by the BIOS and the device manager, the device manager says that the drives are fuctioning normaly, but when I click on "MY COMPUTER" they are not there, any suggestions.

They probably haven't been formatted.
Go into device manager, right click each drive and choose format. NTFS will do fine.

Should appear in My Computer after doing this to both the 300gb.

Just a small warning - don't do it to functioning drives unless you're sure - formatting wipes all data!

I could not format the disks through the device manager, so went through the administrative tools in the control panel found the disk management part, and initialized the disks and formatted. All working now.

After reading what I wrote, I meant go to Disk Management in Admin. Tools, sorry on my behalf!
