Okay, I know this sounds stupid but it's bugging the crap out of me. I used to go post on the 4chan message boards semi-often but now firefox gives me a redirect loops every time I try and access the message boards. I can get to the main site just fine it only gives me the problem when I try to get on one of the boards. I've tried uninstalling my add ons and clearing my cache/cookies and stuff to no avail. I even tried a different browser but that didn't seem to work either. The only thing that does work is using a proxy but most of them are banned and the ones that do work are really really slow.

Any help would be very appreciated.

It works for me using FF.

Are you having problems with any other sites being redirected?

check your hosts file at this location
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc
double click hosts and open it with notepad. you should only have
    127.0.0.1 localhost
delete anything else in there that doesnt have a # before it.

Nope, it only seems to do that with the 4chan forums. Anyway, this is what came up with my hosts file.

    # Copyright (c) 1993-2006 Microsoft Corp.
    #
    # This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
    #
    # This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
    # entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
    # be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
    # The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
    # space.
    #
    # Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
    # lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
    #
    # For example:
    #
    # 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
    # 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host

    ::1 localhost

I'm not sure what that means exactly.

Hmm, well according to your host file. Your clean.
Do you happen to see any big changes, like slowing of computer or signs of Malware? Also, have you checked your proxy settings? and are you behind any firewall that may block this?

    Thanks

I've fiddled with the proxy settings but currently not using a proxy.

I've done virus checks and everything comes clean. I've tried disabling my firewall but that doesn't work either. The weird thing is the site used to work fine and I don't know what might have happened on my end to cause it not to work. I've not run into any other site that does this.

Thank you all for your help so far, I may just have to go 4chanless or frequent another site.:major

So. Just to get this right.

It's only happening when your going to 4Chan?
Every other site it works fine.

Thats some weird stuff. Seems like there's something set in place blocking that coming in.

And when you mean your being looped back. What happens when you go there? What website are you being looped back to?

Also, try running "Tracert" against the website.
Start. Run. "Cmd", Press Ok. Then type in "tracert 4chan.org" without quotations of course. And let me know what happens.

It doesn't actually redirect me, this is the exact message that I get.

    Redirect Loop

Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.

The browser has stopped trying to retrieve the requested item. The site is redirecting the request in a way that will never complete.

    * Have you disabled or blocked cookies required by this site?
    * NOTE: If accepting the site's cookies does not resolve the problem, it is likely a server configuration issue and not your computer.

It does seem like something in my settings or something is blocking it.
