Hello Major Geeks - I am so happy to have found you! :)

My husband and I run an internet-based business, and our websites are hosted remotely with HostGator (HG). Last month we had a malware attack on our HG server. HG did an analysis and determined 3 possible avenues for how the virus came in, one of which originated from our local computers - where a virus attached itself and sniffed out our passwords for the HG server and for our Wordpress installations there. Once it was on the HG server, it spread into all the folders and files there. :(

HG asked us to come here, and run the malware scans you recommend. We have two computers that we work from, and I have completed the scans on the first one just now (attached). I plan to run these 5 scans on the other computer tomorrow, which is more likely to be the source of the problem.

I would be so appreciative if one on you can review these logs. The scans found a few problems, but I don't know what to do with this information. :confused

Thanks in advance - I appreciate it!

    Sharon (a Minor Geek)

Not much of anything in those logs. Just rerun Hitman and remove that one PUP.

Post your logs for the other computer in a new thread. We want to keep everything seperate.

Since you are not having any malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware.
    2. Renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it in step 4 of the READ & RUN ME.
    3. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis. If you don't see it or it will not uninstall, don't worry about it. Just move on to the next step.
    4. If running Vista, Win 7 or Win 8, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    5. Now goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click ( if running Vista, Win7, or Win 8 Right Click and Run As Administrator ) on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    6. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
