I have a 1 year old home built computer which runs 64 bit Win7, has no floppy disc drive and has a mainboard with SATA inputs only. There are no provisions for legacy FDD or older ribbon type drives (IDE?).

I have an old program that will not install on a 64 bit system, so I'd like to dual boot and install an old copy of Windows 98 on the new partition and dedicate it to the old program. I can format the new partition FAT32. The old Windows 98 installation program is on a CD containing multiple install programs, so the install.exe file for Win 98 must be navigated to at the command prompt. I have the Windows 98 boot disk on floppy, but cannot run it.

I downloaded a Windows 98 boot disk and burned it to a CD from this website:

    http://www.allbootdisks.com/download/98.html

BUT, problem is that the boot files do not support my BluRay DVD player!

I am missing a single element no matter which way I turn. Can someone help me to get this installed.

    Thanks in advance.

There are USB floppy drives. I had to get one for my computer. For your Win 98 installation, you may need to get one as well and then set BIOS boot order to USB first.

Yes, I know. I was trying to avoid buying a floppy to use one time only.:)
