A freeware like driver magician?

    im a cheapskate!

    besides latly i have found freeware is nicer than the paid stuff in a lot of cases, but anyways is there a program out that searches ur computer for outdated drivers, downloads the updates?

    I'm not a big fan of updating drivers for no reason. Because a newer version is available isn't a reason to update a driver in my opinion. It's not a bad idea to maybe go thru your PC once every 3-4 months maybe and get newer drivers (especially for your video card if you're gaming), but besides that, I see no reason to always have the newest drivers. This can also cause problems 'cuz sometimes a new driver is released before it has been thoroughly tested, and this can cause MASSIVE issues. I've seen it happen many times (esp. with ATI drivers for some reason :confused ). But, if you're really determined, and really find the need to have a program do it for you (checking for new drivers is actually really easy and takes maybe 5 min), look in the Major Geeks Driver Tools downloads. I'm sure you'll find some freeware in there that will help! :-D
