A8AE-LE/Sempron 3200+ temp sensor

My neighbor has a Compaq PC he purchased a few months ago, It is equipt with the following, ASUS A8AE-LE mobo, and a Sempron 3200+.

He is using Everest to monitor his temps, and one sensor is reading 53-55 degress celcius. The sensor is labeled as "Aux". Since ASUS nor AMD's website has any info on these 2 items, I cant determine what its monitoring.

Any ideas as to what it could be, and is the high temp anything he should be concerned about?

Hmm, possibly the Graphics card temperature? However, I don't seem to recall everest being able to monitor them

 

Graphics card is what I was thinking. And that the CPU fan seems to be running at a low RPM.

 

Yes, I did notice the low CPU fan speed. does the BIOS show the same reading?

 

This being a prebuilt PC, It has a Compaq BIOS and the fan speeds and other options are limited. This leads me to another question. Can the BIOS be flashed to eliminated all of Compaq's BS.

 

Hmm, a BIOS can be reset, but it will only be reset to factory defaults. It may be possible to switch BIOS completely but I'm only 15 years of age so I've not had huge amounts of experience. However, I am almost certain that whichever BIOS you switch to, it will have to be a Compaq one of some kind.

Have you tried using different monitoring programs apart from everest? "SpeedFan" is also another good one for monitoring fan speeds & temperatures
