ABIT Fatal1ty AN8 compatible processors

Hi there,
I'm a bit new to this so please forgive me if this is a bit simple or vague etc

I have a unit with an ABIT Fatal1ty AN8 motherboard running a AMD Athlon 64 4000+ 2.4Ghz processor and 2GB of Corsair DDR 400 RAM. It has an Inno3D graphics card.

Does anyone know if this is able to upgrade to a dual core processor or whether I should just put a bit more RAM into it. (It is currently 1x 1gb and 2x512mb) Can these be simply swapped for 1gb? Will it improve things.

I mainly use my computer for iTunes (I have a huge CD collection that I am putting onto it in order to have it played wirelessly throughout my house) and it is really starting to struggle..... i think. Like I said i'm new to all this....

It does seem as though this board supports some dual core processors. Look at the Abit page below to find out more:

As to the memory, yes you can swap out the 512MB modules for 1GB modules. That will also help performance quite a bit. The page I pointed you to above also has info. about the memory you need to get.
