    Hi!

I know these are two things I should have learnt right at the beginning of my 'computer life', but I didn't....
What is the standard way for substituting a character string for a function key, i.e. F4, and how do I assign different drive letters?
For instance, my USB drive is automatically assigned E: but I would like to have something else.
    All help appreciated

Not sure if about the substition function key thing, but assuming you are using windows XP, this should help for the drive letters:

(If you are not using windows XP, don't use this, it will not work! ;) )

Great - many thanks, the drive letter changing instructions worked!

Previously I had looked for an explanation in Windows-XP help, but couldn't find a thing.

As to assigning function keys - that's still a mystery.
