.....................and now, my 1Tb data disk is in RAW form and unreadable. What can I do to recover my 50 plus Gb of photos, videos, music, documents, etc?
What are my chances of 100% recovery?
What is the best software program to get?
Will the original folder/subfolder hierarchy be maintained?
What do you think of TestDisk?

Download and burn to CD the Partition Wizard Bootable CD. Boot to it and use its partition recovery tool to scan your lost drive. Has worked every time for me in similar situations.

    Thanks for replying.
In what form is the data recovered? Same as original filing?
    Have you gotten 100% back?

If successful it restores the entire partition to its former state. It isn't a file recovery utility.

Thank you. The deleted partition was not the boot partition. I have fully functional Windows 7 (64 bit) on another drive (SSHD). I deleted the "data" partition on the second physical drive.

Can I boot into Win 7 and use this utility, or must I use another?

Sorry I might have been unclear.

Also, is this as effective as TestDisk. It certainly looks easier to use, although I can handle TestDisk as well.

Boot to the CD you burned and use the Partition Recovery feature. There is a Windows based installer for MiniTool Partition Wizard 9.0 that also has Partition Recovery. From the installed version, you can also create the bootable CD.

As mdonah says, boot to the CD. There is no need to install Partition Wizard unless you want it for other reasons.

Thank you earthling and mdonah. Partition Wizard Bootable 9.0 worked perfectly, and was very easy to use! It was successful.
You people are indeed, wizards. Keep up the great work that you do.

I can now get a full night's sleep for a change.

    Sincerely,
