Acer Aspire One A110L and Skype

Since I've tried everything (changing program, headset, OS, country to live in...) to get internet phoning to work on my old laptop without success, I've decided that it has to be something with the hardware.

Now I'll get a second one only for Skype and want a cheap one. I'll probably go for the Acer Aspire One A110L. My question is simply: will it be capable to run Skype smoothly? And btw, what about showing movies?
