I've been using this program for years and love it.

Yesterday, I launched it,as usual, and it said "trial - expires in 30 days."

I uninstalled it and reinstalled and the trial message is gone, but when I try to run the program, a message says "error oxofffo."

This free version is for owners of Seagate, WD and Maxtor hdds.

    Anybody having a problem?

BTW - The structure looks completely different since my last image backup just two weeks ago.

I tried Macrium as a substitute, but would prefer to keep using Trueimage.

    Oxfffo is server error.

    1722 is backup error.

While there are some Iobit programs I won't allow anywhere near my computers, their Uninstaller seems very effective - providing after uninstall you then run the powerful uninstall too. So I would run that and then reinstall your free Acronis version. Alternatively you could try the Acronis Cleanup Utility before reinstalling.

When is the last time you made a backup?

Did you have a problem with Trueimage recently?

I use it at least once per month, last time earlier this week, after the Windows updates. I don't use the free version though, I use ATIH 2014. No problems. I also use Macrium Reflect as a backup backup ;)

Uninstalled, again, reinstalled - same error messages.

    Don't know what's going on.

Guess I'll try the paid program trial and see if that helps.

Could be something to do with this month's Windows updates do you think?

    Could be - really confusing.

I've never had a problem in all the years I've been using it.

I'm downloading the trial paid version now.

    Hope that's better.:eek

I downloaded the trial program , but when I get to the backup page, the Back up now button is grayed out.

Did you try the alternative uninstall/cleanup methods?

Only just studied the pic you attached here. You haven't yet selected the Source drive so that will be why the backup button isn't available

Post 6 shows there is no way to pick the source disc.

I did get it to finally show Backup button, but then got the errors mentioned.

Maybe you could do me a favor and post pics of your method to get this sucker to run correctly.

Too late tonight here (UK). I'll see what I can do tomorrow evening.

It's a file backup that has failed. Try switching it to Disk Mode.

    Already tried that.

I'm just going to wait until Monday and call them.

    Thanks, anyway.

After trying Macrium, I'm probably going to use that instead of Acronis, since I can't seem to get it to run.

The only thing I'm surprised about is that you have to wait until after
the image is made to do a Verify.

Otherwise, it seems much simpler than Trueimage and the price is right!

After years of using Acronis, stumping up for the new version each year, I find myself going the same way. I just don't use all the fancy features, just do full disk or partition backups, which Macrium does perfectly well. I agree about the validation though - finding out your image is no good shouldn't be left until just before you need it. Maybe it's available on the boot CD - haven't checked.

I don't know why the Verify is only available after the backup, but I do it immediately after.

As you said, if you need to do a Restore and it isn't validated, what's the point?

    Thanks for your help.

Just for the heck of it, I launched the WD Trueimage today, and got the correct pages to backup.

Guess yesterday was just a glitch.rolleyes

I really like Macrium, though, and think that will be my main application.

How's the weather in the good old UK?

March has been just perfect, sunny, warm and dry, but the less said about the previous three months the better! Thousands of homes flooded in wettest winter ever. Southern California - I hear you don't have weather at all there ;)

No bad weather, unless you don't count the earthquake yesterday!!;);)
