ActiveX Control Error

Hi Please can anyone help ...?

I keep getting this error pop up all the time but haven't done anything on my PC other than open a photo & don't know why it has started. Photo editor stopped working temporarily after the first message flashed up but is now working again. Here is the error message:

One or more ActiveX controls could not be displayed because either:

1) Your current security settings prohibit running ActiveX controls on this
page, or
2) You have blocked a publisher of one of the controls.

As a result, the page might not display correctly.

It is popping up all the time and is sooo annoying. I have done a system restore back to 10 days ago but this hasn't helped :cry. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

This fix hasn't worked, does anyone else have any ideas, please. I don't know if this error is associated with AVG summer 2014 or whether this is just coincidental? Does anyone have any advice info please? Thanks

2. browser?
3. what photo editor program (version also)?

 

Hi im on Windows 7 with the latest version of internet explorer - 11 is it? And photo editor is really old ... Microsoft professional office 2000. Hope this helps. Photo editor seems to be running ok now and I am not sure if the AVG summer update triggered it? Any help would be much apreciated - thanks

 

are you running a torrent program?

 

I have yet to install IE 11 on my three Windows 7 computers. I'm still reading about problems with it. So I can't check settings. I also don't use IE. Since the error specifically mentions ActiveX, which is in IE but not in FF, I'd say it is browser related.
