add/remove programs keeps freezing and won't come up

I would like to say that I first ran the malware to clean my system out to see if maybe it was something that could be fixed. Needless to say that was a big fat NO...LOL! But everytime I try to open up add/remove software it always freezes and the block stays up on my screen but never pops up. I also look in task manager but it doesn't show that it's even open on there. I have ran REGSVR32 APPWIZ.CPL and REGEDIT (but didn't do anything once opened). PLEASE HELP ME!!!

What OS and SPs are installed?

Did you run all of the Malware Read & Run?

Is it just the Add/Remove or other OS functions too?

I have windows 2000 and it's an SP 4

I did run all of malware and have the logs if you would like to see them

It's the add/remove function only

I looked in the event viewer and honestly I don't understand it.
