Usually it requires 3rd party tools like Partition Magic to do such things.

    What operating system ?
What filesystem is the existing partition using ?

partition magic can work, but really back up everything as it sometimes really messes up your computer.

Like efibacchus said make a backup first and then use:

    Partition Magic or BootIt
