Hi. Recently one of the memory banks stopped working. (while the computer was off, no power, I pulled some RAM out of the first bank. But When I go to put the same speed memory in it stops working. I put in the last memory, dosn't post. Even with memory in the second bank. Now when I try all the different RAM in the second bank, with the first empty, it works. What has happened here?

If this can not be explained, or fixed, I am willing to accept it. As long as I have 1 working slot I can work with that. I'm going to buy a 1GB memory module, and need advice with the speed. My computer's Bios doesn't seem to have a voltage adjust, or really any features at all. So if I were to buy some RAM that needed a little adjusting to get it just right, I fear I couldn't do it so easily, if at all. The original RAM that came with the comp: DDR2-533 Which is PC2 4300 right? If I were to buy DDR2 SDRAM with the same voltage, would a higher speed work?

    Quick Comp Specs:

    Windows XP Home Ed. OS
    3.06 Celeron D 346 CPU
533 Mhz FSB, 64 bit width
2 Memory Slots, first not working?
Micro ATX, onboard graphics (at the moment)
    Intel Mobo, Austek- Grafito

 Ok, so there is this Ram with faster speeds. But it is not a familiar brand. Only it seems to have good reviews. And there is this other ram, with a slower speed which is name brand, and it costs about $12 more...

Does the voltage difference really matter? Will my computer adjust automaticaly, or will it not work? Also, I am not sure what voltage my memory banks work at. Could I find out? Also, if anyone could suggest some really good Ram for my computer (under $110) I would appreciate it.

yes you are right? you don't need to bother on voltage.
if i was you, i'd buy a brand new RAM. You won't notice the big difference between 533 and 667
