adobe premiere pro 3.0

hey, i dunno if any of you know much about this program, but ill ask my question anyway

I think one of my projects has become corrupt or something, because all it does is crash when i try and work on it. I get the error "Sorry, premiere has encountered a serious error and needs to close." obviously I've looked in the adobe knowledgebase etc, but nothing there works. Sometimes I also get the message that premiere is running very low on system memory. At first i thought the files I was using had somehow become corrupt, but I made a new project and tried some of them out and it worked fine.

Am I just using too many files in the project? whenever I have this project open, it takes up a lot of memory and CPU.

Premiere indeed does take quite a bit of resources. So, the question is. What are your system specs?

 

oh yes, of course. how could i forget. i attached my dxdiag report.

i pretty sure my machine should be able to handle it, but i do have an awful lot of files in use for this project
