I need to upgrade my video card (I currently have a NVIDIA GeForce2 MX) but I'm not sure how to check whether the cards I'm looking at on eBay are going to be compatible with my system. Has anybody got any advice on how I can go about checking?

My motherboard is a GIGABYTE GA-7DXE and I think the following information may be relevant, Expansion Slots; 1. 1 x AGP 4X, 2. 5 x PCI slots support 33MHz and PCI 2.2 compliant

Does this mean that a Card that has AGP 8X won't work with my motherboard?

    Thanks for any advice.

No an AGP 8x card can be run at AGP 4x, you can change it with an application called Rivatuner.

The 8x video card will work on your motherboard it will just run at 4x.
