After SPK2 Upgrade IE not loading unsecure sites

I have upgraded to Service Pack 2, now my internet explorer will only load web pages that are secure (https). It will not load any other sites (http). I have searched and haven't found anyone else with this problem. Any ideas? Thanks!

 

I have had the same problem with secure sites after SP2 was loaded. I found if I added then to my trusted sites, some will work now. The easiest fix for me was to download FireFox whick allows the secure sites fairly nicely. It also seems to be a little securer than IE. Here's the addy for it.

I have the same problem of not being able to load unsecure sites, while secure sites are fine. This is a problem because to access updates I need to access Microsoft's own site, which is non-secure and therefore unavailable to me. Mozilla is no use because the Microsoft site requires use of IE.

I have tried changing all the settings I can see to be the same as on another computer that has not a similar problem, but all to no avail. Any settings in the registry that can be changed to overcome this problem?

 

I have had the same problem. Any site which requires https is unavailable to me. The firefox solution would be an acceptable short term solution. Too many sites do not display correctly because they are using MS proprietary code.

However, I am also unable to connect to the internet with firefox. I can reach http with IE but nothing with firefox.

 

Actually I would not say it is SP2, but 3rd party programs keeping you from seeing the pages. Have you added any Hosts, or secured IE to the point that it may of crippled it?
