This laptop has no ethernet, the adapter is there, physicaly. There is nothing wrong under device manager, I have all the newest drivers from lenovo, and still no ethernet. There isn't even one listed under device manager. I checked the bios to see if it were turned off, it wasn't. I reset the bios to default incase I missed something, still nothing. The plug is there, its just not working.

This was after an upgrade? Did you do a spyware/ virus check? A similer thing happened to my USB ports, and it ended up being something like that. Perhaps if you have limited scanning you could do a system restore? Or if the device is listed properly as working in device manager is your DSL provider having problems?

No, its not a virus, its a fresh install, on a hard drive that was zeroed out.

Lenovo purchased IBM's PC line, so any driver goes to their website, so yes I did.
