I can't seem to remove the album art associated with my MP3 folder thumbnail on Windows explorer.

    What I've tried:
    1. Right click on the folder > Properties > Customize > Folder pictures > Restore Default (Thumbnail still shows the album art)
    2. Tools > Folder Options > View > Show hidden files and folders (No hidden image files)
    3. Conducted a *.gif, *.jpg, *.jpeg search on my whole system (Didn't see the particular image)
    4. Transferred all MP3s of the artist to another drive, refreshed (Still there)

I came across deleting individual jpegs of album art before, I just can't remember where. I think it was in WMP or something. Is there some hidden folder I should check?

    Thanks in advance guys.

Tools > Folder Options > View

Uncheck "Hide Protected Operating System Files." The album art and other crap will be in the folder where your music is stored. Just be sure to recheck the "Hide Protecte..." box once you are finished so you don't accidentally delete something important.

    Try this:
Right-click the folder, select Properties, select the Customize tab, then change the option in "What kind of folder do you want?" box. Change it to Documents to get a generic folder type. This will leave the folder with no image on it, but may also remove some of the options associated with the file types as well.

kuku, toehead410: Tried both of your suggestions. Same thing. The thumbnail still has that nasty album cover even if I've selected "Documents" as the folder type. (Pretty much tried every other folder type as well). And nope, no hidden files. Only a bunch of mp3s and wma's.

Here is my last shot in the dark . Move all the files to another location like the desktop (to make the files homeless, temporarily, in order to disassociate them with a defineable folder type), delete the folder, create a new folder then put them back.
Or is that essentailly what you tried in your original post, listed as number 4 of the things you've tried?

What music related applications do you have installed on your computer? I ask this, because I can't duplicate your issue on my computer.

Only other option I can think of is to set the VIEW to ICONS or something else besides thumbnails.

Not much, really. I've got Winamp and MP3Producer. I know I could just create a new folder and transfer all the MP3s over, or just view them as icons or what not, but nothing beats the feeling of just finding that darn JPEG and deleting it. Heh.

Problem solved, Kuku was right. It was one JPEG named "folder" that was hidden. Must've missed it the first time. Thanks guys. Happy Holidays.
