Have external hard drive with 4 partititions, one shows as unallocated.

Ran diskmgmt.msc, but on right click all greyed out apart from "properties" and "help".

Have downloaded Partition Manager, but so far not found solution.

    Any ideas please. Thank you

Make sure you are right clicking on the unallocated space and not the square drive x area. After right click you should see "Mark partition as active" and "format".

    Thanks for reply.

Have tried clicking on every part of displayed partition in disc manager, but no further commands appear. This is very frustrating.

Tried expanding other partitios, but Partition Manager won't use the unallocated space.

Going to go for another long hard think!

How big is the Hard Drive and what is the total space used by the 3 partitions? Some people have trouble with a 128gb limit, I'm wondering if your 3 formatted partitions equal 128gb.

Thank's for your help, I eventually solved problem using Paragon Partition Manager.

If you go to www.computeractive.co.uk/paragon/index up to 3 December you can get a free download of version 9SE
