Alternate Scans

I don't actually have a virus, but if I would, would it be good to first run the alternate scans before having to make a post?

 

What I'm trying to ask is that at the end of the specific steps for versions of Windows it gives a link for alternate scans. Would it be a good idea to run those before making a post?

 

Unrelated question: how do I learn to be able to know enough not to have to post a log here, because I'd know enough to know what to do myself not needing to post a thread.

Background: my friend knows that I'm interested in computers and that I was looking for a source of income (I'm a teen) and he sent me to this site, saying to look at the read and run me. He told me that it has the necessary instructions to be able to fix viruses and that I could start a business fixing people's computers. What I'm finding instead, is how to create logs with the necessary information to know what scanners and such to use. However, this website doesn't seem to give information on how to read these logs, instead saying to just post them. If I'd start a business, I wouldn't be able to just post every log, so how can I learn to read logs myself and be able to fix computers without getting specific help every time?
