    Hi,

My computer speakers are the basic ones that came with the computer(Dell dimension 2400), and are pretty limited in volume output. I've got some small analog speakers in a closet, is there some piece of equipment that could be connected to the computer that would power the speakers? I'm cheap, poor, and bored, so scrounging around wouldn't be a problem ;). Is it possible to hook up +/- speakers to a pc? What equipment would be needed?

    Thanks,
    j

You will need a stereo amp to connect (hifi?) speakers to your pc output. Use your ingenuity instead of cash you may be able to find something powerful enough. The power required obviously depends upon the speakers themselves.

I used to use a sony stereo I got from the local tip for £5, plus a pair of Wharfdale Speakers for another £3. Just connected the CD input socket from it into the speaker output on the soundcard of the PC.

Twin cassette, radio and record turntable. I also used it to copy some vinyl records onto CDs for playing in the car.

    * Edit - It still works but one of the tape decks has died (belt gone and I can't be bothered to take it apart to fit a new elastic band)

if u have a stero that has like a red/white plugs in it u can get an adapter for like 3-10$ depending on how long u want it. the adapter will go from a headphone plug to the red/white u can hook it up from ur computer to ur stero. thats what i have.
