Didn,t want to start new thread since there are to many Realtek problems thread already.

After Reinstalling XP SP2 on my PC i lost Realtek Audio...
tried reinstalling drivers from ASUS CD , latest updates, nothing helped :(
    its just not recognized ..
Maybe the conflict is the ATI MSI Radeon300 that i have installed drivers for first? or....

The Realtek and ATI are built in on the motherboard ASUS P5GD1 that has
suppied CD with all the drivers....
here is the info from the motherboard:
    ASUS Bios ROM info:

    Model: P5GD1
    Version: 1006.005
    Chipset: I915
    Date: 09/27/2004
    Onboard Sound: Azalia (swa)
    Onboard Lan: Exist(wl)

I have downloaded ASUS update V7.14.01
BUT haven,t run it yet... thought i might ask You Gurus first?

any help on getting back Realtek sound would be appreciated
    thanks in advance

Moved to new thread as hardware is differnt to other users and may confuse the issue!

Best to install the Chipset Driver first then reboot and install the Audio but you may also need to install the UAA driver as your not updated to SP3, Click Download and then choose XP here for drivers (chipset is under Other!) UAA driver here

also do tell us what items have yellow ! marks in Device Manager

thanks for reply, will try to reinstall the chipset and Audio...

The only yellow in device manager is Device Manager--Other Devices---Mass Storage Controler

    Hi VillageFreak

Cheers for the update and glad your audio is now working, seems as if actually installing SP3 is a way to fix this in that it does have the UAA drivers built in.
