    And now THIS:

    "Alert"

This POP3 server does not seem to support encrypted passwords. If you just set up the account, please try changing to 'Password, transmitted insecurely' as the 'Authentication method' in the 'Account Settings | Server settings'. If it used to work and now suddenly fails, this is a common scenario how someone could steal your password".

Yes, I just set this up today, but it worked earlier today, and now suddenly I am getting this alert.

I had used Thunderbird a few years ago, but now beginning to recall problems of this sort lead me away from it...

Any takers on this one, please?

I use TBird v2 but have avoided v3 because of reported problems. Someone here may be able to help, but if not then you could try the Thunderbird forums

Sorry for leaving "Bird" off the subject/Title - thanks for the reply - I may have to check the Thunderbird Forums - thanks again...
